2001 Third Coast Festival Competition
This year's competition attracted more than 300 entries from eleven countries,
including the United States, Germany and Australia. The winners were announced
on October 27, 2001 at the Ballroom at the School of the Art Institute.
Accepting the 2001 Lifetime Achievement Award was Bill Siemiring, one of the founding fathers of
public radio and a dedicated advocate for the building and sustaining of community radio in
emerging democracies.
