The 2009 TCF/RHDF Competition is now closed! Thanks to everyone who submitted work. Now stay tuned; winners will be notified by September 1 and results will be announced publicly on this site in early October.
We’re no longer accepting entries for this year’s TCF / Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Competition.

Up to $26,000
will be awarded across the following categories: Best Documentary (Gold, Silver, Bronze, Honorable Mentions), Directors’ Choice, Best New Artist, Radio Impact and Best News Feature.
Additionally, the TCF will present the Audio Luminary Award to an honoree for his/her outstanding contributions to the audio field. Radio fans and professionals alike are encouraged to submit nominations for the 2009 ALA, and for the first time ever – the nominator of the ALA recipient will receive a free plane ticket to Chicago and a ticket to the 2009 Awards Ceremony.
Big news:
This year, also for the first time, entries will be submitted online, with the help of the Public Radio Exchange (PRX.org). No more shipping costs, or sleepless nights spent wondering if your entry has arrived!

Winning producers/reporters will receive cash prizes to support their future creative endeavors. Winning programs will be celebrated at an awards ceremony in Chicago, featured on this website, and heard by a national audience in the 2009 Third Coast Festival Broadcast.
Other exceptional entries from the competition may be featured on the TCF’s weekly radio show Re:sound (on WBEZ), on this website, and at public listening events in Chicago and beyond. Entrants will be compensated if/when their work is featured.

About the entry process:
You'll be asked to create a free PRX account in order to begin the submission process, and also asked to convert your audio file to an mp2 for upload. Don't worry, there'll be ample information about how to do this right there on the site, and a link to all of the tech support you could possibly need.
