TC/richard h. driehaus foundation competition
The Third Coast / Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Competition seeks the best audio work produced worldwide (in English) in the following categories:
Best Documentary (Gold, Silver, Bronze, Honorable Mention), Directors Choice, Best New Artist, Radio Impact, Best News Feature and the Skylarking Award (previously known as The Little Mermaid.)
Winners will be celebrated at the Third Coast Awards Ceremony on October 24 in Chicago. Their winning stories will be featured in Best of the Best: The 2015 Third Coast Festival Broadcast, distributed to public radio stations nationwide via PRX this Fall.
Winning producers will receive:
- Prizes ranging from $1000 to $4000
- A license for Hindenburg Journalist Pro editing software
- A free pass (one per winning entry) to the Third Coast Filmless Festival, October 23-25 in Chicago
Other outstanding entries may be featured:
- on our weekly radio show Re:sound (on WBEZ, Chicago)
- on this website, in the Third Coast library spotlight
- at public listening events in Chicago and beyond
Entrants will be notified and compensated when applicable, if/when their work is featured.
Competition entries are judged by highly accomplished audio producers and editors from around the world. Judges consider the degree to which the entries - of all styles, lengths and subject matter - relate their stories successfully. Story choice, technical quality, editorial integrity, creativity, writing and use of sound all factor into the selection of winners.
All decisions are final.
2015 judges to be announced in June.
