In the beginning of January 2008, the Belgian-Ghanaian Sugar Jackson defended his European welterweight world title.

In the days leading up to the big fight, the champion isolated himself from the outside world in Purmerend, a small town in Holland, where he trained with his coach, Renald. His schedule was very strict: jogging, boxing, skipping, boxing, boxing, and boxing. A veil of silence hung over Sugar Jackson and he shunned the press. Producer Wim Vangrootloon was allowed, unbelievably, to join a training session. He arranged to meet in the cafeteria of the boxing center, where he found the coach waiting for him. Sugar was still out on a morning jog.
