Story

This story brings together a young Toronto composer, Adam Goddard, whose passion is music, and his 90-year-old grandfather, Henry Haws, whose passion is farming.

Adam used recorded interviews with his grandfather about the “good old days” to create a modern musical composition.

The Change in Farming was produced for the CBC's Outfront, in 1998. The program won a Prix Italia in 1999 for Best Cultural Radio Documentary.

Producer

From its exhibition at the Museum of Television and Radio in New York City to the stage of the Theatre Verdi in Florence, Italy, Adam Goddard's work has received accolades across the world for innovation in music. Goddard's productions span from international arts commissions to music for features and broadcast design. His arts commissions are currently used as lecture material in numerous university programmes and broadcast symposiums.

Steve Wadhams is a longtime producer for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, who, over the course of his 30 years at the CBC, has set himself apart as a masterful documentarian. Wadhams’ work has been recognized by a Prix Italia, two Major Armstrong awards and the gold medal at the New York Festivals.
