Hillary Frank is the author and illustrator of the novels Better Than Running at Night, I Can’t Tell You, and the forthcoming Normal, ME. She is also contributes to a variety of public radio programs, including This American Life, Studio 360, and Weekend America. Frank lives in Philadelphia.
The Dollar Storeys project invited any/everyone to produce a short audio work inspired by one of three items purchased at a dollar store:
- ceramic mug sporting feisty feminist banter
- 4-pack of wooden mousetraps
- an old-school bicycle bell
Unless We Showed Up in Hazmat Suits was inspired by the bicycle bell.
