Story

This is a true story about bike commuting, theft and making the best of a bad situation.

My Bike Had a Burger Bell: A Tragic Tale of Loss and Woe was produced for the 2007 TCF ShortDocs Challenge: Dollar Storeys.

Producer

Mia Lobel (Red Hook, NY, USA) is a freelance audio producer and journalist who recently packed up her life, said goodbye to all her friends, and moved from her adopted home in the Bay Area, CA back to the Hudson Valley, NY where she grew up. She is deeply indebted to her neighbors and family who have made this past year a good one.

Extra

The Dollar Storeys project invited any/everyone to produce a short audio work inspired by one of three items purchased at a dollar store:
- ceramic mug sporting feisty feminist banter
- 4-pack of wooden mousetraps
- an old-school bicycle bell

My Bike Had A Burger Bell: A Tragic Tale of Loss and Woe was inspired by the bicycle bell.
