Story

What happened when Ligeti's ghost helped me create a sound piece.

Ligeti Was in My Apartment was produced for the 2006 TCF ShortDocs Challenge: 99 Ways to Tell a Radio Story.

Producer

Jeffrey Letterly is a real live interdisciplinary artist. In addition to writing music and making sound art, he has danced, acted, made movies, written stories, and created various live and not-live performances. His work has been presented from the midwest to the east coast and in a multitude of locations in Chicago. He is also half of the country-tinged band Urban Inbreed and heads up the multifaceted super group The 11th Hour Orchestra.

Extra

The Third Coast collaborated with cartoonist Matt Madden on 99 Ways to Tell a Radio Story. The project, inspired by the French literary group Oulipo, asked any/everyone to produce a short audio piece that:

- began with some manifestation of, "To begin with, they never got along;"
- included a pre-recorded voice, rhythmic noise and exclamation
- lasted exactly 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
