Title
Presented
The non-fiction scattered story of Devin Hildebrand's family Christmas '95, when his sister received a real kitten, Jodi, just like she wanted, among other things.
Produced for the 2010 TCF ShortDocs Challenge: Book Odds.
Devin Hildebrand is a 20 year-old audio-tinkerer from New Orleans, LA. Devin, who is a lover of such music and an admirer of The Books, also collects and organizes many sounds and voices of his own.
Notes!
- 'note manual' is used once unaltered at the start of the piece, then used multiple times pitch-shifted to be more desirable notes throughout the song.
- all the other samples are noises recorded by me or taken from my family's VHS labelled "X-mas '95 // Jodi"
Book Odds invited anyone/everyone to produce a short audio work inspired by (and named after) song titles from The Books' record The Way Out, and including samples from their library of musical bits, strange phrases and sonic doodads. Read more about and listen to other Book Odds submissions.
Your donation to the Third Coast International Audio Festival makes it possible for us to share creative and compelling radio stories with listeners across the globe, and to champion the ever-growing community of producers who bring this incredible work our way.
