Story

The close quarters of an elevator make for a particularly suffocating ride after someone, um, passes gas. If only there was a gas mask on board, or a protective wall to block or at least deflect the pungent odor.

There's apparently No Way Out (like the Kevin Costner film from the 80s), but one elevator rider is especially in search of The Way Out.

Produced for the 2010 TCF ShortDocs Challenge: Book Odds.

Producer

Adam Kampe tripped and fell into audioland about 8 years ago upon moving to the nation’s capital. His audio life was born inside Cool Edit. Armed with MiniDiscs and too much free time, he soon realized he liked to tell other peoples’ stories in sound. Kampe then attended Salt in 2005 which helped him land a job at the NEA, where, for the past four years, he has been producing audio about the arts.

Extra

Book Odds invited anyone/everyone to produce a short audio work inspired by (and named after) song titles from The Books' record The Way Out, and including samples from their library of musical bits, strange phrases and sonic doodads. Read more about and listen to other Book Odds submissions.
