Tony Phillips is Senior Commsioning Editor at the BBC World Service in London which broadcasts to 40 million people weekly in English. He is responsible for a wide variety of programming including documentaries, arts, sport and religion. During his nearly twenty year career as a programme-maker at the BBC, he produced documentaries on themes ranging from Malcolm X to the future of the English Language. He studied American History and Literature at the University of East Anglia in the UK.
