Francesca Panetta started in radio at the BBC as a trainee sound assistant. She stayed there working at BBC Radios 3 and 4 for the next five years leaving to form the Guardian Newspaper's podcasting team in 2006. She now runs the Guardian's audio department but continues to make programmes in her spare time. As a producer she specialises in montage features and has won a number awards including a Sony Gold for best internet programme 2010. Panetta also won Best Online Producer and the Creative Award at the inaugural Radio Production Academy Awards in 2010.
