Entry Rates Breakdown
Collective Pricing Rates
Throughout Third Coast programming, we use a community-conscious pricing philosophy — what we call our Collective Pricing Model — that allows each person to determine the rate that’s right for them.
When you enter your work to the Third Coast Call for Entries, we ask that folks determine their entry rate by the length of their work, the institutional support and individual resources they have at their disposal, and their geographic limitations — all in the context of other members of the audio community. In other words: What support do you have, and what support are you able to provide?
Determine Your Entry Rate
Take a look at the recommendations below to determine which rate(s) work(s) best for you. (You'll be prompted with these same recommendations on the entry form itself.) Please note that you will pay per entry, and that you can only submit one entry per form. There’s no limit to the number of total entries you can submit. So for every entry, you’ll fill out a new form, determine your rate for that entry and that entry only, and pay for that entry at the end, when submitting the form. Then you can feel free to submit again.

Available Discounts for Non-English Language & International Entrants
As a U.S.-based organization, we are committed to actively making more room in the independent Third Coast Competition for non-English work, as well as for submissions from outside the U.S. and from around the globe. Therefore, we offer a separate sliding scale of entry fees in order to better meet the significant financial barriers that may come along with producing and entering non-English language work and work being made in certain countries outside of the U.S. Our goal is to better meet the needs of this important work that often requires more labor and cost to submit than English-language entries.
The entry form will automatically calculate if you qualify for these discounts. Here’s how they break down:
If you are in a country that’s not included in the IMF’s top 30 countries with the highest GDPs per capita or if you are submitting work in a language other than English, you will have the opportunity to to select a sliding-scale discount of 10%, 25%, 50%, or 75% from your total entry cost, or to pay full price for your submission. This discount is available for entrants submitting work from countries outside of the IMF’s top 30 countries with the highest GDPs per capita throughout the entire Call for Entries, and available for entrants submitting work not-in-English after the Flash Sale deadline of December 17th.
The intention behind this offering is to break down barriers to submission for folks who live in countries with a lower GDP per capita to access our U.S.-based Competition and to consider the cost of translating work in all languages into English. These are just a few considerations we’ve made to make our Competition more accessible.
If you are an entrant that qualifies for this discount, you will be given the option to select a sliding-scale discount of 10%, 25%, 50%, or 75% from your total entry cost, or to pay full price for your submission, when filling out your entry form. If you qualify for one of these discounts, we ask that you consider the principles of Collective Pricing to determine whether or not to take advantage of a lower entry fee, or to pay the full price of the entry. Entrants who do pay full price help Third Coast subsidize entrants who aren’t able to.
PAYMENT PROCESSING
Payment is processed through our entry form via credit card, debit card, or PayPal. Our payment processor charges a small fee per entry, which we give you the option to cover yourself, or pass on to Third Coast.
If you have concerns about your ability to afford an entry fee, please email us at competition@thirdcoastfestival.org.
