Vaughn Hood was a 118-pound barber when he was drafted into the Vietnam War.

Most men in his company did not survive their first three-month tour. Vaughn rose to the rank of Sargeant. Today, Vaughn runs a hair salon in St. Johnsbury with his wife, Bev. Producer Erica Heilman visited him in his salon and interviewed him about war, survival, and hairdressing. The story was edited and sound designed by Larry Massett.
