In 2003 the TCF introduced our "ShortDocs", by inviting producersto submit written proposals for radio stories (five to seven minutes in length) about a single topic - 'thirst'.
From the 80 proposals received, the Festival selected and commissioned four stories that approached the idea of thirst in very different, very compelling ways.
In Variations on a Thirst: Presenting the 2003 TCF ShortDocs, moderator John Hockenberry presents the 2003 TCF ShortDocs, and discusses them with producers Sean Cole, Ann Heppermann & Kara Oehler, Alex van Oss, and Sarah Varney.
