Work in Progress

By now you've probably heard plenty of stories about "the transformation of a beleaguered Detroit" but we bet you've never heard one like Work in Progress.
Through careful sound design and meticulous editing, Zak Rosen explores theories about how the idea of "work" is evolving in the city, and introduces some of the motivated (and memorable) people behind this emergence - from 96-year old philosopher/activist Grace Boggs, to former auto worker-turned community activist Gloria Lowe. Both abstract and detailed, Work in Progress offers not just a look at contemporary Detroit, but a powerful and thoughtful listen to a city in flux.
Work in Progress was produced in 2011 and scored in parts by Joel Peterson and Marco Novachcoff.
