Emily Kwong

Emily Kwong (@emilykwong1234) is a public radio reporter and current Above the Fray Fellow.

In 2019, she travels to Mongolia to tell stories about a nomadic country adapting to environmental change. Her fellowship is through the John Alexander Project, an international reporting program hosted by NPR.

Previously, Emily was a community reporter and news host for KCAW-Sitka (Raven Radio), chasing stories onto fishing boats and up volcanoes. She also joined the local circus troupe and spent the better part of a spring learning how to imitate a peacock on aerial silks.

Emily has worked extensively in youth media, producing documentaries with teens for both Radio Rookies in New York City and the Modern Story in India. She was Captain of the AIR New Voices Scholarship in 2015 and 2016 and won Best New Artist in the Third Coast / Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Competition in 2013.
