Maya Goldberg-Safir (@mayags)(she/her) led Third Coast alongside Co-Director Emily Kennedy from September of 2021 to December of 2024.
Previously, Maya was Third Coast's Artistic Director. She has worked for Third Coast since 2013, and has held various positions, including Intern, Social Media Strategist and Artistic Associate. Born and raised in Oakland, California, she relocated to the Midwest over ten years ago after graduating from Middlebury College. She remains passionate about welcoming new members to the growing audio community!

Third Coast International Audio Festival, or Third Coast, has served an ever-growing global community of narrative audio storytellers and makers since 2000. An independent nonprofit arts organization based in Chicago, we center people first in our advocacy for the medium of audio as an art form. Through our work, we seek to push at the boundaries of the audio industry and support an international community of creators who build our world in sound.
