Zakiya Gibbons

Zakiya Gibbons (@ZakiyaGibbons) is a radio journalist and storyteller based in New York City. She is a 2018 Third Coast Radio Resident.

After graduating from Haverford College, where she studied psychology and anthropology, Zakiya went on to interview people from all over the country. She got her start in radio by interning at WHYY-FM, StoryCorps, and WNYC before becoming an Associate Producer for NPR’s Latino USA . Today, she is an Associate Producer for Gimlet’s Every Little Thing . She is a proud southerner and lover of eel and avocado sushi.
